In the area for one night and looking for a simple meal that is not 'fast food' and of course I checked in with Yelp. I was not disappointed. Really like this place! Thanks Yelpers! Located in a small strip mall, this is a true neighborhood restaurant: 'regulars' and all. Enter through the door on the right, the restaurant is divided into two rooms. On the right are a few tables, bar (no seats) and waitress station. On the left is an open, sunny, dining room with TV's and plenty of wooden tables and chairs. The menu was recently changed and includes apps, sandwiches, pasta, pizza and entrees. The meatballs are made in house and are big and tasty. The side salad includes a spring mix, cheese, croutons, tomato and cucumber. The house made white balsamic dressing really 'pops'! Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle, and the portions are generous. Full bar and very good beer selection at reasonable prices. Our waitress is a doll. Very personable and just the right amount of attentive. This is good food. The kind you would make yourself at home. Not fancy; just good solid home style food.

If you're looking for fancy-pants pizza or burger, this is NOT your place. If you are looking for delicious, approachable, comfort food, this is totally your place. The baked ziti is great, love the burger and pizza specials during the week, and the crab pizza will blow your mind.

Over the years, I had avoided this place like it was the Bubonic Plague. I remembered it as awful, and unclean. I decided to try it again (some 10 years later) tonight - and it was nothing short of excellent. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly and quick. A simple meal - mozzarella sticks and a pizza with pepperoni and meatballs. The pizza was out of this world. The sauce was sweet, the crust a perfect mix of dough taste and crunch. I'm glad I came back, I'll be back again - no doubt.

A grilled cheese sandwich turned into a pizza. Cheese tastes like Kraft yellow american cheese slices, dough is strikingly similar to grilled white bread soaked in butter, and there is almost no sauce (see picture). Just go home and make your self a grilled cheese sandwich. Leave the top piece of bread off and you've got Dominic-style pizza. I can't speak for the meat or toppings quality because I only ordered a cheese pizza. I also did not try their sandwiches.

We came in between lunch and dinner so had the restaurant to ourselves. We'd had a few snacks while bowling so knew we were just going to have pizza. We ordered a large cheese pizza. It was good. The pizza crust was bread-like with a nice tomato sauce and plenty of cheese. I didn't think it was greasy at all. I did add some grated parmesan cheese to mine and husband added some pepper flakes. We ordered 2 soft drinks and 2 glasses of wine and pre-tip our total was only $25.00--what a deal! We even had some slices to take home. Our waitress was efficient and very friendly. I'm interested in trying some of the more traditional dishes like lasagna.

Dominica is a local pizza place/restaurant that's makes you feel like one of the family. Ron's homemade meatballs and red gravey is a must try. Good food, good atmosphere, live music on Thursdays, Trivia on Tuesdays and Karioke Saturday's nights. Stop by, its worththe trip, they all make you feel welcome.

I was so hesitant to even pick up my pizzas after I walked inside. The place is damps and DIRTY. I don't think the floors have been swept in ten years. I did see they own a broom though as it was sitting next to a huge pile of grossness in the kitchen. The place needs a serious face lift, but let's start with a deep cleaning first. The pizzas themselves were just okay though. Not a lot of seasoning, but a solid amount of cheese and toppings. I don't think they were worth the price.

Great local place! This place was taken under new management last year so if you haven't been in a few years - come back! The food is now fresh and so much better. They have a great craft beer and wine selection now as well. This is a mainly a local joint so don't expect any fine dining here - know what you are coming into. Everyone is friendly. They get really busy as well so at times service can be slow but that's just how popular they are. My two main recommendations - the pizza and burgers - they have perfected these.

Solid pizza. Friendly service. Improvement in quality over the past few years. Dine or carryout with confidence.

Excellent lasagna! Good Calzones, which are hard to find around here. The antipasto salad is very fresh, and large feeds two nicely.

Good pizza and good wings! Very friendly staff/owner! Most pizza places you go to or call in to you feel very rushed to get off the phone or to make your order. Dominics took the time asked what I was in the mood for and explained the menu since I didn't have one to order from. I had the Dominics original and 10 wings. I did 5 old bay and 5 plain. The old bay were great. Only critic I could give is more seasoning in the pizza. I will definitely go back.

Tonight was our first visit to Dominic's, there won't be a second... The good: We called ahead for carry out. The lady that answered the phone spoke clearly, solicited useful options for extras and gave us an estimate of about 15 minutes. I got there about 15 minutes later and our order was bagged and ready to go. A polite woman rang us up and away I went. Price was average for the area. I noticed the place had two sections and at 6pm on a Saturday evening they were about half full. Many people sitting down seemed to know the staff and were enjoying chatting with the servers. That ends the good... The bad: The place looked dirty as I approached the carry out counter. The floor looked sticky and the whole place looked like it would benefit from being shut down for a day or two and scrubbed by professionals. Adding to this was the kitchen staff. I saw three men working with food. I think one of them had on a baseball cap and gloves, he seemed to be weighing bags of pasta. The other two gentlemen had long hair and no head covering of any sort. I truly expected to pull a hair out of my food (but didnt). My wife ordered a fried fish sandwich on white with lettuce, tomato, cheese and mayonnaise. She ate less than half declaring that the fish tasted like nothing and the flavor of mayonnaise was the predominant one. I ordered a chicken parmesan sub. This was probably an 8 inch sub in a styrofoam box. The roll was good and nicely toasted. The chicken was slightly over cooked and crunchy. The cheese was difficult to find and I didn't notice it's flavor at all. The sauce was frankly disgusting. I don't know how much sugar they put in that stuff but half as much would have still been too much. They didn't over sauce the sandwich which was a mercy because that stuff was bad. Our last component was a 10 piece order of buffalo wings with mild sauce. These were the worst wings I've ever eaten. I ate two, the other eight went in the trash. The wings were large, that's where the good ends. They were broiled, and maybe not for long enough. The meat was so tough that I had a difficult time biting it off the bone. To add insult to injury, the sauce was nonexistent. A thin greasy red sheen in the bottom of the container and the faintest of orange stains on my fingers was the only evidence of the existence of sauce at all. I tried a wing from the top of the bowl and one from the bottom that was sitting in the grease. Both were tough, flavorless and had soft, chewy skin. I eat wings by the dozen when they're good and still put away several when they're average. I love buffalo wings. I could not choke these down. The summary: I'm out $27 bucks, but wiser for the experience. I now know that I needn't darken Dominic's door step again. The take out menu has been recycled, the trash has been taken out and you have been given fair warning.

I went to Springbrook and our football team plaque was on the walls for years. I used to eat here for lunch during two-a-day practices. I knew the old owners and my buddies worked in the kitchen in the spring, early summer. Let me just say that the new owners, Springbrook graduates, have improved the food immensely. The pizza and wings are now good. The fries are hand cut and good. On the down side, it must be hard to hire good servers these days, because the service is terrible. Its fine if you have a lot of time to kill, but if your stopping in for a quick bite (less than an hour) you'll be in trouble. I was in the service industry for 10 years. The money is good. Hire good people and this business will thrive and expand again.

Went in on a Thursday night. Great pizza and good meatballs. Waitress admitted that they were out of homemade meatballs, but they were still good. Server was a bit harried because of a football team that arrived shortly before my party. Food still came out in a timely fashion. Great neighborhood place. I will be going back.

I was pleasantly surprised when my husband dragged me here. I never liked the food and the place was dirty, smelled and the service was terrible! Well things have changed! The new owner has cleaned the place up and hired a new chef. The food was great. I had a sausage sub and it was delicious. My husbands cheese burger was huge and really good. I also would recommend the fries, fresh and are made from real potatoes! If you haven't been here in a while give to a try!

I ate here recently after not coming by for a few months - and was pleasantly surprised!! The place has new owners, and is now called Dominic's Italian Grille. While the menu seems to be pretty much the same, the restaurant has been really cleaned up with new carpet, tables, etc - I actually thought I had walked into the wrong place when I went in! The place no longer looks old and dingy. I had a pizza and a steak and cheese sub, and I would say that the quality of the food has definitely improved! I have been coming here since I was a kid and I love the new look! The new owner introduced himself and was super friendly and accommodating. Great place for casual Italian.

There is a new real CHEF here! You can't go wrong with any of the specials. The mussels were great and the bruschetta was out of this world!!!!

I have lived in DC now for two years and didn't find a good pizza joint until the first time I had Dominics. It was a perfect pizza. Great sauce, good sausage and pepperoni, a little sloppy but overall, great. I've since tried them 7 times over the last year, each time getting worse and worse. You order a supreme and ingredients are missing, (usually meats) - and it seemed to get sloppier and sloppier. (greasier, not thoroughly cooked) Tonight I figured I've give them another shot, since they have a new name, and a few of the folks there recognize/remember me from the few times I've gone. I call and order an X-Large pizza, and I'm told "We are out of X-Large pizzas." How does that work? out of boxes? fold the pizza. out of dough? combine it with a half of another doughball. So I instead order a large. Pepperoni and Sausage. Something simple. Half an hour later I go to pick it up. No sausage. Two topping pizza, and you don't even have the two ingredients that go on 95% of your pizzas? This place officially sucks. So glad you tell me that you don't have toppings for your pizzas after I show up to pick it up too.

Under new ownership. They were headed in the right direction but then they got rid of a lot of key cooks in the restaurant and the quality has literally gone to shit. I think they will be out of business in the next few months/years. Sad I used to like the place.

Dominic's used to be one of our favorite places. Their crab dip was AMAZING! Was. Amazing. A few of their recipes have changed and it was for the worse. It may be because their crab dip was probably expensive to make with little profit; however, it was sooooo good. Their delivery food is never quite as good as the food that's served in-house, and that's not because it sits for the drive over. Something's just different about it. Dominic's, PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR OLD RECIPES!!!

Do you like bland food from a dirty kitchen that is ridiculously overpriced? Then by all means dine here, just don't expect to get your food in a timely manner. They apparently can only cook one thing at a time as our meals all arrived at different times. One person at our table ordered the fish. About 20 min later my chicken parm arrived, with her fish skin (or someone's fish anyway) underneath it. The real pisser is that my dirty dinner cost $14. Ridiculous. Avoid this lazy establishment, i would have given it 0 stars if possible.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
